South Africa's rand climbed 2.2 percent against the dollar on Friday after better-than-expected US jobs numbers and positive services sector data out of the world's biggest economy boosted riskier assets.
The rand extended earlier gains to hit a session high of 8.1586/dollar and had come back slightly to 8.1660 by 16:27 SA time. It closed at 8.34 in New York on Thursday. - Reuters
