Iqraam Rayners (Mamelodi Sundowns)

In a star-studded side like Sundowns, it is difficult to assume any new players would arrive and immediately become key figures but that’s exactly what Rayners has done in his first five months at his new club.

Following on from a stellar campaign with Stellenbosch last season, the 29-year-old is undoubtedly the most in form attacker in the division having scored 12 goals and registered a single assist in the 16 games he’s played in all competitions. His five goals in eight appearances in the league have guided Sundowns back to the top of the league and he will look to continue his rich vein of form.

Relebohile Mofokeng (Orlando Pirates)

Relebohile Mofokeng, 20-year-old, has been making waves with his performances for Orlando Pirates in the last 18 months.

His creative play and ability to produce chances out of nothing make him a player to watch during the midweek clash against Marumo Gallants as the Sea Robbers look to keep up the pressure on Sundowns.

Mofokeng's skills could prove pivotal for Pirates against a usually stubborn Bahlabane Ba Ntwa defence whilst he looks to add onto the four goals and seven assists he’s managed already this season.

Pule Ekstein (AmaZulu)

Pule Ekstein has been a key player for AmaZulu in the last 12 months and more so under the coaching of Arthur Zwane and Vusumuzi Vilakazi who employ a style that suits him.

His experience and creativity can change the dynamic of the game at any time and, especially in crucial encounters like their next clash with Mamelodi Sundowns. Ekstein’s vision on the field makes him one of the players to lookout for in AmaZulu’s starting 11 and having added goals to his game recently, he’s a constant goal threat.

Bongani Zungu (AmaZulu)

Looking to potentially partner Ekstein is new Usuthu man Bongani Zungu who brings a wealth of experience and skill to AmaZulu as they face a tough challenge against the defending champions.

His ability to dictate the pace of the game and contribute both defensively and offensively makes him a crucial asset for his new team. Zungu’s performances can directly influence the outcome of matches, making him one to monitor closely.

Lucas Ribeiro (Mamelodi Sundowns)

Sundowns’ best player in the last season and a half, the Brazilian number 10 remains the entertainment drawcard of all matches. With seven goals and five assists already to his name this season, Ribeiro will be eager to impress new coach Miguel Cardoso.
