DJ Zinhle had Mzansi talking after she posted a video fangirling over none other than Chris Brown.

The businesswoman and hit DJ couldn’t contain her excitement when she found out that Chris Brown was in Johannesburg last week for his two-day concert.

She took to social media to share her admiration, only to find herself at the centre of some unexpected backlash.

In the now-viral clip, Zinhle opened up about how excited she felt knowing that Breezy was just a stone’s throw away, even though she couldn’t catch his shows or meet him.

“Guys, Christopher has arrived, and I'm not OK,” she said with a mix of excitement and disbelief.

“He's here in Joburg and could literally be staying 20 or 30 minutes away from me, and I won't be able to see him. I'm honestly not OK. Please tell me where he lives so I can go camp outside his hotel.”

While some fans found her reaction relatable and hilarious, others were less amused.

Social media critics accused Zinhle of being overly infatuated with the US singer, with many pointing out that she’s married to Murdah Bongz.

The drama escalated quickly, as it often does in the Twittersphere, with comments pouring in about what’s “appropriate” for a married woman.

But Zinhle wasn’t about to let the critics have the final word. In a follow-up video, she clapped back with her signature grace and humour. She reminded everyone that it’s normal for women to admire male celebrities without it being that deep.

“It’s just admiration, guys,” she explained. “I’m not crushing on him. Can’t a girl appreciate a bit of Breezy without catching feelings from the crowd?”

It’s safe to say that Zinhle’s excitement over Brown was pure fangirl energy, something many of us can relate to.

After all, who wouldn’t get a little star-struck knowing an international superstar is just around the corner? Even the queen of the decks isn’t immune to a little celeb admiration.
