South African musician Aymos, has been on a successful path, releasing top-charting music and winning awards such as the Metro FM Music Awards Best Male.
The young talent is filled with joy at seeing his hard work pay off through awards, performances, and a growing fanbase.
Aymos has a new album out “Impilo”, and admits completing it was a challenging task. It took Aymos over three years to complete the album.
He credits his team for supporting him through the challenges.
"If it wasn't for my team, I don't think I would have done it."
Building the right team was crucial for the amapiano maestro, he believes that surrounding himself with people who share the same vision has made a significant difference.
"It's not easy to take along everyone because the brand keeps growing, but I was fortunate enough to work with people who understood where we’re headed."
Aymos is known for his authenticity, and maintaining his values is something he takes seriously. He revealed that he turns down lucrative deals that don't align with his image, emphasising the importance of remaining true to his principles.
"It’s challenging to turn down money, but my brand speaks to a huge audience, including kids and elders. I always try to keep my brand clean and informative," he said.
Choosing the title "Impilo" (meaning "life") reflects the ups and downs Aymos experienced while making the album.
The album has 14 carefully selected tracks, which capture a blend of personal reflection and uplifting milestones. "It’s life in 'Impilo', it’s not a smooth journey, but we created something meaningful."
Life itself took place during those years, and the project reflects the different aspects of his journey.
"The album hasn't been a smooth journey, but eventually, it came together beautifully with all the collaborations and experiences," he explained.
Aymos carefully selected artists for collaborations based on the direction of the music. Eemoh, Kabza De Small, Mas Musiq, Mawhoo, Samthing Soweto, Shasha and Cassper Nyovest are some of the featured artists.
He highlighted the importance of working with various talents, such as producers and vocalists, as a key part of the creative process.
"Relationships matter more than anything," Aymos said, adding that he chooses artists who will complement the message of the song.
Aymos now runs his label, Lifestyle Entertainment, mentoring upcoming artists, and offering them wisdom on navigating the business side of music.
Aymos is preparing for the launch of his "Impilo" album at Empowers Palace on November 9th, which he describes as the pinnacle of his year.
He promises an epic experience for everyone attending, from his long-time supporters to the friends and collaborators who helped shape his journey.
"I want everyone to feel the energy and the vibe. It took so many people to raise this Aymos, and I want them to feel important," he said.
With "Impilo," Aymos has created not only an album but a testament to his life experiences, growth, and values, solidifying his place as a standout artist in South Africa’s music scene.
