International celebrity chef, Lorna Maseko, has recently announced an exciting new partnership with South African Airways (SAA), promising to elevate the in-flight dining experience for travellers this year.

Known for her multifaceted career as a celebrity chef, cookbook author, former ballet dancer, and dynamic entrepreneur, Maseko’s latest collaboration marks another major milestone in her ever-growing career.

Taking to Instagram in the early hours, Maseko shared the thrilling news with her followers, expressing her pride and excitement.

“The dishes are deeply rooted in my culture and heritage as a proud Motswana from humble Alexandra, while also incorporating pan-African flavours that celebrate the beauty and diversity of our continent,” she wrote. “Whether you’re flying business class on a long-haul or local flight, I hope these dishes bring you a sense of comfort, warm familiarity, and, of course, absolute deliciousness. This has been a dream come true… South Africa 🇿🇦 to the world.”

Maseko’s culinary creations, which will be featured on FlySAA flights this year, are designed to evoke a sense of warmth and belonging. For her, this partnership is more than just a business opportunity, it's a chance to share the rich flavours of Africa with the world.

“It’s not just food, it’s a celebration of our continent, our history, and our culture,” Maseko continued in her post.

This collaboration is the latest achievement in the life of a woman who continues to inspire many, especially South African women. Growing up in the township of Alexandra, Maseko has always remained grounded, using her platform to empower and uplift those around her. Her journey from humble beginnings to becoming South Africa's premiere black female ballet dancer is an inspiring testament to her perseverance and passion.

In addition to her impressive career in the culinary world, Maseko recently debuted her own 10-part television series, "Lorna’s Pantry", which premiered on January 15. The show, which showcases Maseko’s skill in transforming everyday pantry staples into extraordinary meals, is already receiving rave reviews for its relatable yet innovative approach to cooking.

As an executive producer, choreographer, and bubbly master of ceremonies, Maseko wears many hats, but she continues to prioritise the impact she can make on others, especially young women looking up to her.

"I never forget where I come from," she says. "It's about showing others that anything is possible, no matter where you start."

With the FlySAA partnership and her growing television presence, Maseko is undoubtedly a force to be reckoned with in the entertainment and culinary industries, and her influence will continue to inspire generations to come.
