For people who dream of getting married, receiving an engagement ring seals the deal.

It is enough confirmation that you are a step closer to living your dream and walking the aisle.

However, unlike a wedding ring, most people often take out their engagement rings. According to a study conducted by Goodstone Jewellery, people are more likely to lose their engagement rings than wedding rings.

The study reveals that beaches are a high risk for losing your engagement ring. This is because rings slip off in the water or sand. A similar thing once happened to Kim Kardashian, who lost her expensive diamond earring in the ocean.

Homes also have a high frequency of ring loss year-round, even though it's a familiar space. You may misplace it in a sink or on the top shelves when cleaning.

“Ring losses at home coming in fourth place might be the most surprising result here!” says Blake Asaad,  jewellery expert.

A gym is also where you are likely to lose your engagement ring as rings have a habit of falling out of lockers or slipping off during workouts.

There is a medium chance of losing your engagement ring at a park during picnics or outdoor activities. And if your ring is too small, you may not find it if it gets hidden under the grass.

At the workplace, you may lose your ring in the restrooms or the staff kitchen. If you work with honest people, you may get it back. Besides that, it may be gone forever if you don’t find it before someone else does.

To avoid losing your engagement ring, put it in a safe, small container after taking it out and immediately put it in your handbag.
