DURBAN - The Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) has extended a good luck message to the matric class of 2021 ahead of their National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations starting tomorrow (Wednesday).

IFP spokesperson Mkhuleko Hlengwa noted that for the second year running, pupils have had to continue with their schooling under the challenging conditions created by the Covid-19 pandemic.

“The IFP would like to acknowledge the hard work and perseverance needed to get to this point, and encourage all Matrics to stay focussed as they approach the final hurdle,” he said.

He called on the matriculants to stay focused and give their best to achieve the best possible results.

“Good results are the key to getting access to tertiary education, as well as bursaries and other types of support,” Hlengwa said, pointing out that there would be more than enough time to celebrate after the examinations.

The IFP also commended teachers, parents, and guardians, who had supported the matriculants on this journey.

“As examinations begin, and places Matrics and teachers under stress, we ask that communities rally around them, and provide support.

“Good luck for the examinations, Matrics - we trust that all your hard work will be rewarded,” Hlengwa concluded.

The first papers to be written on Wednesday are English Home Language, English First Additional Language, English Second Additional Language.
