A new exhibition showcasing the work of car designer Sergio Pininfarina for Ferrari opens on Saturday at the Museo Ferrari in Maranello - home of the Prancing Horse marque.
The displays are spread over three halls containing racing cars, Ferrari-Pininfarina concept models and 11 roadgoing Ferrari models whose distinctive silhouettes were drawn by the maestro who died in July, aged 85. Born as Sergio Farina, the star designer was responsible for many notable car designs from Italian and other manufacturers.
Exhibits in the racing car section include the Le Mans-winning 250 LM, the 250 SWB which legendary British driver Stirling Moss drove to victory in the Touring Trophy and Pininfarina's experimental F1 Sigma.
The line-up of Ferrari-Pininfarina concepts and the road range includes the BB prototype originally shown at the 1971 Turin motor show. The exhibition will be open open to the public from 27 October to 7 January. - Sapa-dpa
