Karma, they say, is a bitch - but it's also true that sometimes she smiles on petrolheads like us.

In 1972 Rick Lookebill of Indiana bought his very first car - a brand new Ford Mustang Mach 1. And being a righteous petrolhead, he cherished it and kept it absolutely original until 1989, when family finances forced him to sell the grand old lady.

But he never forgot his first car and often spoke of finding it.

So, 24 years later, his son Michael located that same Mustang in Florida - scratched and rusty but largely undented and, miraculously, unmodified. Without telling Rick, he bought it, had it shipped back to Indiana, and handed the keys to his father as a complete surprise.

Luckily for us, the Lookebill family captured the moment on video.
