New Qashqai edition adds some bling

Limited editions are usually 'limited' to just one derivative, but Nissan is widening the scope with its latest Qashqai Limited Edition by offering it in four versions with three engines.

You can have it as an 81kW/154Nm 1.6 Acenta, 78kW/240Nm 1.5 dCi (with or without a glass roof) or 102kW/198Nm 2.0 Acenta guise, in which case you do get the glass roof as standard.

The package basically adds some bling to the Qashqai, both inside and out.

Starting with the exterior, the edition adds 18-inch two-tone diamond-cut alloy wheels and the roof rails and mirror caps are finished in a gloss black trim. You also get the option of Pearl White paint.

Inside, this Qashqai is decked out with cloth-leather-combination seats with accented white stitching, matching door and gear lever surround trim and a gloss black finish for the door handles and gear lever surround.

According to Nissan, the edition adds R10 000 worth of value to the lower models, but costs just R4000 more. In the case of the 2-litre, you're getting R20 000 worth of kit for a R8000 increase.

That means the 1.6 Acenta will set you back R278 900, the 1.5 dCi Acenta R294 900 (R298 900 with the glass roof) and the 2.0 Acenta goes for R321 900.

It doesn't look like numbers are too limited, though, as the Qashqai Limited Edition will be available for a full year.
