Wanna win a new Ford Ranger? Can you test a bakkie in the toughest possible conditions without breaking it?
Then all you have to do is submit what you believe would be the ultimate test of a bakkie to the Ford Ranger Challenge - and you could be one of three finalists chosen to put one through its paces in your tough, real-world situation.
Ford marketing manager Ben Pillay Said: "All around the world - and especially in South Africa - bakkie owners are pushing their vehicles hard every day. We know South Africans relay on their bakkies, whether working on farms, taming dirt roads, battling dense bush or taking on the city.
"We want to show exactly what the new Ranger can do so we're putting it in the hands of the people who know best how to test it to the limit."
Each of the three finalists will get a new Ranger for 10 days. During that time they'll actually carry out their nominated challenge, which will be captured in a two-minute video clip.
The videos of the three finalists' challenges will be uploaded to the Ford Ranger Challenge website and the public will be invited to vote for the toughest challenge during October and November 2011. The winner will be the one that gets the most votes from the public - and he or she will drive away with a brand new Ford Ranger 3.2 TDCi XLT double cab.
Pillay said: "The challenge is an opportunity for us to reach out to bakkie guys all over South Africa and get them to participate or just to follow the contestants as they test the all-new Ranger in tough, real-life conditions even before it goes on sale.
"We believe the new Ranger is one tough, smart truck and we want you to see it in action as our challengers put it through its paces."
