A 54-year-old man was killed in a pub fight in Shelley Beach on the KwaZulu-Natal south coast on Wednesday night. 

KZN police spokesperson Robert Netshuinda stated that the Port Shepstone SAPS arrested a 38-year-old man for allegedly shooting a 54-year-old man to death at a pub in Shelley Beach on February 12, 2025. 

"The suspect will appear in court soon. The motive for the killing is unknown."

KwaZulu Private Ambulance Service said they responded to reports of a shooting at a local pub in Shelley Beach. 

Spokesperson Chris Botha stated that paramedics arrived on the scene to find a patron who had been shot multiple times. 

"KwaZulu Private Ambulance Service assessed the patient. Sadly, the patient had succumbed to their injuries before emergency services could reach the scene."

He said details surrounding the shooting were unclear and subject to a police investigation.
