Rustenburg - Two men have been arrested in connection with the murder of a female SANDF member at Tonga near Komatipoort, Mpumalanga police said on Thursday.
Spokesperson Brigadier Selvy Mohlala said Nondumiso Nicollin Mabila, 30, was stabbed to death on September 9.
Mohlala said the SANDF member was in full uniform when she was attacked and she was getting ready to leave for work in the early hours of the morning.
“It is said that as soon as she came out of the house, she was attacked and stabbed several times to death by suspects. They fled the scene, leaving her bleeding profusely”, Mohlala said.
A relative of the woman, who was called to the house, found her lifeless body lying outside in a pool of blood.
The victim was declared dead by paramedics when they arrived at the scene.
Mohlala added: “A murder case was opened and police from Tonga immediately began with their investigation, which led to the arrest of Thabo Mambane, aged 21, and Ndumiso Mabila, aged 31."
The suspects appeared in the Nkomazi Magistrate's Court on September 13. Their case was postponed to September 27 for a bail application.
