Orlando Pirates have been drawn alongside Egyptian giants Al Ahly in Group C of the CAF Champions League.
The draw for the group stage of the Champions League took place in Cairo on Monday.
Pirates, who qualified for the competition after finishing second in the Betway Premiership, will also tackle Algeria’s Chabab Belouizdad and Stade Abidjan from Côte d'Ivoire.
Percy Tau’s Al Ahly, the current holders and the most successful club in the history of the competition, are looking for their 13th triumph, while Pirates are still attempting to add to their lone star from their win in 1995.
Seven-time reigning Betway Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns will also be looking to win the competition for the second time, and they will be facing Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca and FAR Rabat, as well as Maniema Union from the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Meanwhile, Stellenbosch FC’s maiden continental campaign will see the Cape Winelands side going up against RS Berkane of Morocco.
Stellenboch’s other Group B opponents will be Mali’s Stade Malien and CD Lunda Sul form Angola.
After missing out on their second-ever trophy last weekend, Steve Barker’s Stellies will be hoping to challenge for trophy to boost their standing on the continent.
