If you’re planning to be at the FNB Stadium for Saturday’s big clash between Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns, you better move fast because tickets are selling like hot cakes.
Earlier on Thursday, Stadium Management SA CEO Berti Grobbelaar said 44 000 tickets had been snapped up.
According to reports, the number of tickets sold had gone up to 52 155 by 7pm on Thursday evening, and they were expected to be completely sold out by kick-off on Saturday.

Saturday’s clash at the FNB Stadium will see an inform Chiefs and Sundowns go head-to-head, with the winner most likely moving to the top of the league.
After a number of mediocre years, Chiefs’ form at this early stage of the season has given their fans real hope that the club are back among the elites of South African football.
They began their league campaign with a morale-boosting come-from-behind victory over Marumo Gallants, and followed that with a confident and mature 3-1 dismantling of AmaZulu at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban this past Wednesday.
Saturday, though, will be their first real test. If they can get the maximum three points against the reigning league champions, their supporters will start buying in to Nasreddine Nabi’s vision for the club.
For Sundowns, they will be out to prove that they are still the undisputed kings of South African football.
Like Chiefs, Sundowns have won both their league games so far. They currently sit at the summit of the Betway Premiership, ahead of Soweto giants Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs by virtue of having a better goal difference.
