Big Concert have announced that Robbie Williams’s concert dates in Johannesburg have changed.
The award-winning British pop star was meant to perform in the country on January 18 at the FNB Stadium, Joburg, but due to scheduling conflicts, Williams will now be performing two additional live shows on January 25 and 26 at the SunBet Arena, Time Square, Pretoria.
Big Concerts revealed in a statement that the SA concert date clashed with Williams's “Better Man” movie promotional commitments in the US.
“Whilst the unavoidable date move is frustrating for everyone involved, we are pleased to have found a solution so that fans will still get to see Robbie perform live,” read the statement.
Fans who have bought tickets for the January 18 performance will be automatically refunded or if their payment details are no longer saved they will be contacted by Ticketmaster to make alternative arrangements.
They will also have the chance to buy pre-sale tickets to either of the two shows on Thursday, October 24.
“Please note it may take up to 10 days for the refund to reflect. Existing ticket holders must please keep an eye on their inbox for an email from Big Concerts.
“We appreciate your understanding and look forward to two unforgettable nights with Robbie Williams at SunBet Arena, Time Square,” said the concert organisers.
Meanwhile, Williams’s Calabash South Africa music festival headline concert, which is set to take place on January 22, in Cape Town, remains unaffected.
Williams last visited South Africa in 2006 when he brought his biggest-ever world tour, “Intensive Care” to Pretoria, Cape Town and Durban.
General sales for the two new live concerts in Pretoria will go on sale on Friday, October 25.
