Durban - Waterford Manor is a 10-hectare property on the Mooi River outside the village of Rosetta.
Perfect for fly-fishing, picnicking or simply relaxing, this spot is a paradise of indigenous forest and magnificent trees, and also boasts enjoyable walking trails.
Conveniently situated close to one of the popular Midlands Meander routes along the R103, it is the ideal setting to wind down and enjoy the fresh country air. There are plenty of birds, as well as abundant wildlife – buck, mongooses, porcupines, jackals and otters can be spotted from the comfortable veranda.
Across the road is the Wine Cellar, a family-run speciality wine shop in Rosetta that stocks a wide variety of wines sourced from all over the country. It was opened in 1996, when it became apparent there was a need for a local stockist.
Margie Spowart’s passion for finding and sharing different wines is how the concept was born. Spowart started with 52 red and 22 white wine labels in what was once a dairy, and has now become a key Midlands destination, with The Wine Cellar housing one of the biggest wine selections in KwaZulu-Natal.
Shoppers will also be spoilt for choice when it comes to brandies, ports, muscadels, liqueurs, spirits, beers, cheese, Italian cold meats and coffees.
The Wine Cellar offers the expertise amateur connoisseurs expect when buying something as individual as wine.
