Durban - The four-star Ocean Reef Hotel is nestled close to the shoreline at Zinkwazi on the North Coast, roughly 80km from Durban.

Ocean Reef has a conference venue that can accommodate up to 50 delegates with facilities for outdoor and other team-building activities. Some 100 wedding guests can be accommodated in the Bamboo restaurant.
Zinkwazi Beach is one of the many beaches on this stretch of coastline that form part of a nature conservancy. There is plenty to explore in the plethora of rock and tidal pools that are home to a wide variety of sea life, including sea urchins and brightly coloured fish. The swimming beach is protected by shark nets and the 7km long lagoon is a great swim spot for kids – and you might just find a weary mom or two taking a breather by floating in the water. The beach is renowned for water sports such as surfing and deep sea fishing.
Other bird life beside the fish eagles abounds in the surrounding indigenous coastal dunelands and forests. Ferry rides along the lagoon (dependent on the water level) are used for upriver bird spotting, wine tasting or simply to experience the relaxation of being on water.
Zinkwazi is close to the Zululand Birding Route, not far from several game reserves, lies in the heart of the the King Shaka Route and is close to many a historical Anglo-Zulu battlefields.
Golf enthusiasts have a number of nearby courses to choose from including the Zimbali golf course, Umhlali Country Club and Mount Edgecombe – all world-class courses.
