February, a time for reconnecting with your significant other, for thoughtful gestures, and for remembering the uplifting magic of love. At One&Only Cape Town the entire month of February will be focused on romance, encouraging guests to take time out of their daily lives to escape to a place where every care is taken care of, where every element – from the spacious rooms to the gourmet menu offerings, V&A Waterfront location and spa spoils are of the five-star uniquely One&Only variety.

The only urban resort in South Africa, One&Only Cape Town is a true escape from it all, a luxurious oasis where couples can check in and forget about their ‘real lives’ to enjoy an utterly decadent experience from valet arrival to mid-morning check out.

An ideal place for a romantic getaway, guests have the option of checking into any of the spacious suites at this luxe Waterfront hotel or perhaps a night at The One penthouse is one for the cards?

This expansive penthouse with its four bedrooms, baby grand, various outdoor terraces and a pool boasts the best view in the house. An evening here starts at R95 000 a night - for some true love has no price tag.

SAY YES

Valentine’s Day is a much-loved day for proposals and at One&Only Cape Town there is a seemingly endless choice of innovative and romantic ways to pop the question. From the decadence of a Champagne sunset cruise on the hotel’s private yacht, to a private proposal at The One, the resort’s exclusive penthouse, a Spa Couples Suite package, a private table for two at the outdoor Yoga Pavilion, a romantic turndown including Champagne and the cutest ‘Word Scramble’ cupcake surprise where individually lettered sweet bakes unveil the very important question. One&Only Cape Town will ensure the couple in question enjoy this magical moment of a lifetime.

ART WITH HEART

On the evening of February 14th and until the end of the month, The Lalela Project will showcase a variety of original artworks in their Heart Mapping exhibition, held in and around the Vista Bar & Lounge adjacent to the resort’s main lobby. Created by young artists of the townships of the Western Cape, students from various impoverished communities were tasked with thinking of the heart as an entity, a space holding one’s deepest emotions, fears, dreams and aspirations.

The artists’ exploration of this concept in pairs, and the expression of each other’s emotions resulted in a series of compelling mixed media art offerings which guests will be able to view from Valentine’s Night. These artworks will be available to purchase with a portion of the proceeds going to The Lalela Project. The Lalela Project is One&Only Cape Town’s official corporate social initiative partner. The NGO tasks itself with promoting empathy and understanding amongst children who live in racially divided communities using creative outlets.

TABLES FOR TWO

With its glorious views of Table Mountain and the V&A Waterfront, there’s no denying that One&Only Cape Town is a romantic place at any time of the year. A table for two at any of the hotel’s dinner venues this February and Valentine’s Day will certainly make a memorable impression on foodie couples. Keep it casual at Isola on the hotel’s pool terrace, enjoy a romantic evening in the open air, private surrounds of the Yoga Pavilion, indulge your gourmet side with a seven-course dinner at Nobu, recent top 10 restaurant placement in the prestigious 2011 Eat Out DStv Food Network Restaurant Awards, indulge in a celebration of South African cuisine at Reuben’s, where celebrity chef Reuben Riffel and his talented team impress guests with their seasonal approach to dining.

Whichever dining destination you decide on for your dinner for two, the elegant hotel dining experience, outstanding food and wine and beautiful views will certainly make an impression. Of course the most indulgent option of all would be dinner on one’s own terrace in the privacy of your suite and this is certainly available for hotel guests on request.
