London - Holidaymakers may soon be able to experience life under the sea by booking a stay at a futuristic hotel on the ocean floor.
The Planet Ocean Underwater Hotel has received US Patent and Trademark approval as the world’s first underwater hotel – with Egypt, Malaysia, Hawaii and the Bahamas disclosed as some of the designers’ preferred locations.
Guests would be treated to a one-of-a-kind panoramic view of sea life, 8.5m below the surface.
The ambitious project aims to create a luxury undersea boutique hotel.
Designers are hoping to build underwater hotels, which come with a sealed lift, around the world to lure adventurous tourists.
Tony Webb, the man behind the hotel design, said: “I refer to it as inner space tourism.”
