Voyages of Discovery will return to the Galapagos Islands, the Amazon River and Machu Picchu this spring.
Departing March 30, 2008, the Discovery will begin a 16-day Amazon expedition from Havana, Cuba, calling at Curacao and Tobago and sailing 140km down the Amazon to Manaus. Stops along the way include the riverside towns of Santarem and Boca da Valeria.
Fares begin at R21 750 per person. Continuing on from Manaus, passengers can add two Brazilian ports and a string of islands for a total of 29 days on the Amazon Discovery cruise.
The cruise will visit Parintins, Devil's Island, Trinidad, Grenada, St Vincent and Barbados. Fares for the 29-day cruise start from R38 700.The segment from Manaus to Barbados is also available as a 13-day voyage, with fares starting at R16 950 per person.
Complimentary excursions to the Galapagos Islands are featured on a 25-day cruise-tour from Santiago to Quito, departing February 22, 2008, and a 16-day sailing from Quito to Havana, departing March 15. Fares begin at R29 500 per person, double occupancy.
From Manta, Ecuador, complimentary shore excursions include full-day excursions to San Cristobal, featuring tours of Isla Lobos, Kicker Rock, La Galapaguera de Cerro Colorado and La Laguna de El Junco.
A second full-day complimentary tour showcases the archaeological wonders of Machalilla National Park and the biodiversity of Isla de la Plata.
The February 22 cruise provides a mid-cruise excursion to Machu Picchu. Fares for the 25-day cruise begin at R38 950.
