For the first time Môreson Primary pupils each have his or her own desk and chair. This is all thanks to Gerry and Douwe Helfrich, who paid for the transport of a container full of second-hand furniture from Holland to South Africa.

The school is one of five local schools supported by the Born Free-Shamwari education programme. The Born Free Foundation is an international wildlife charity that focuses on raising a voice for wildlife in captivity and has projects throughout the world. There are two sanctuaries on Shamwari Game Reserve, where lions and leopards rescued from captive conditions are rehomed in spacious enclosures in the natural bush.
