Mossel Bay is gearing up for a bumper season with singer Ronan Keating - "be still my beating heart" - who will be performing on the driving range of the Pinnacle Point Beach and Golf Resort on January 2.

The adventure enthusiast will also find plenty to do at Mossel Bay, as the sexy Mr Keating sings, Life is a rollercoaster. And nowhere more so than here.

However if Rowan Keating really doesn't blow your hair back, then why not try some of these adrenaline-boosting activities?

- Abseil off the cliffs with Adventure Edge (Daniel: 082-940-6935/044-692-0313)

- Scuba, reef diving and rubber ducking. (Electrodive Sue: 072-130-9489/Ken: 082-561-1259)

- Bungee jumping from Gourits Bridge (044-697-7001) Face Adrenalin

- Hike along the Attaquaskloof hiking trail

- Fish with Mossel Bay Deep Sea Adventures (Magda: 072-454-2988)

- Take surfing and sandboarding lessons with Leon on 082-971-1405

For many years overlooked as a holiday destination, Mossel Bay has emerged as a favourite venue on the popular Garden Route.

Given its central location on the southern Cape coast, as well as the outstanding weather, Mossel Bay has also blossomed as a residential and property investment area.

Few golfers will want to resist the temptation to tee off on what the Irish golfer Darren Clarke describes as "Pebble Beach on steroids".

Clinging to the Indian Ocean cliffside, the Pinnacle Point course with its seven signature holes, provides spectacular views.

Pristine beaches are an easy walk down a dramatic new wooden boardwalk in front of the clubhouse, which follows the cliffs down to the sea and caves below.

Mossel Bay is renowned for its seafood and there are many fine restaurants to choose from. Accommodation ranges from luxury self catering or B&B Villas and Golf Lodges at Pinnacle Point to the hotel Garden Route Hotel and Spa, the perfect place to relax after all those heart-stopping adventure activities. A crèche and baby sitting facilities are an added bonus.

Fly in to George, 30 minutes drive from Mossel Bay, or drive along the Garden Route.
