South African bronze sculptor Xhanti Mphakama will exhibit his art at Grand Gallery Boadicea at Grand Café & Beach, Granger Bay, from the June 2 – the first sculpture collection to form part of the Grand Exhibition series.
“My sculptures are inspired by my surroundings. I draw all my ideas from the people I meet and this is why my sculptures are themed around indigenous women and men, wearing traditional clothing you no longer see in more Westernised areas,” says Xhanti.
“I want the rest of the world to see those kinds of people – African people that are beautiful.”
Xhanti’s art will be displayed throughout Grand Gallery Boadicea, a gallery that is an extension of the indoor dining area of Grand Café & Beach.
