Sun, sea and sand are high on the list of priorities for South Africans when choosing a holiday destination.
This was one of the findings of a recent survey conducted by the world’s largest privately-owned cruise line MSC Cruises.
Budgets, they found, were also a big concern for South Africans.
“And never more so than recently. 52% of the survey’s respondents said that budgets influenced their travel and holiday decisions,” said the company in a statement.
And while many people had the perception that you had to be wealthy to be able to escape to a far-flung island on a luxury cruise liner, they said, it turned out that cruising could be one of the most value-added and affordable holiday options in SA.
“And while South Africans love all the Indian Ocean has to offer, the survey also revealed that 74% of South Africans would love to enjoy and explore the majestic beauty of the Mediterranean.”
