Johannesburg - This European summer, MSC Cruises is offering two fantastic complementary Mediterranean itineraries to inspire mind, body and soul.

While MSC Sinfonia takes travellers through the beating heart of the region on a quintessential Mediterranean summer experience brimming with sunny beaches and spanning from the stunning Cote D’Azur to the beautiful Emerald and Amalfi coasts, MSC Armonia will be delving into the rational mind of the Mediterranean, uncovering historical and architectural treasures from Ancona to Greece to Dubrovnik on a stimulating tour of philosophical thought and the birthplace of Western civilisation.

From May 6 to November 11, MSC Sinfonia will be setting off from Genoa, Italy, on a series of eight-day/seven-night cruises around the western Mediterranean, calling in St Tropez in France, Palma de Mallorca and Menorca in Spain, and Olbia and Salerno on Italy’s beautiful Emerald and Amalfi coasts.

From April 19 to November 1, MSC Armonia will be setting off from Venice, Italy, on a series of eight-day/seven-night cultural and historical cruises around the eastern Mediterranean. Until June 7, she will be calling in Ancona in Italy, Kotor in Montenegro, Corfu, Santorini and Kefalonia in Greece, and Dubrovnik in Croatia, and from June 7 will sail a slightly modified itinerary in which Gythion replaces Santorini.

In place of Santorini, travellers sailing from early June will discover unspoilt Gythion, a sleepy fishing village promising the freshest local seafood and idyllic white beaches beside ancient Greco-Roman remains. - Saturday Star
