Johannesburg - If the Brits get bureaucratic with us, we’ll get equally bureaucratic in return.

That seems to be the attitude of the Department of Home Affairs, which plans to introduce visas for British visitors following years of wrangling over visas for South Africans entering the UK.

“The Republic of South Africa intends to introduce visa requirements for diplomatic and official passport holders of the United Kingdom,” Home Affairs Minister Naledi Pandor told Parliament.

She was responding to a question from DA MP Manny de Freitas, who asked what her department had done “in respect of the decision of the United Kingdom on the requirement of visas for South African citizens entering the UK”. – The Star
