Johannesburg - The South African government is not screening travellers entering this country from Guinea for Ebola because it believes the Guinean government is doing enough to screen them as they leave the country.
“The South African government is confident that the measures taken by the Guinean government to eliminate this public health emergency, with the assistance of international partners, are significant and it would soon bring the situation under control,”the Department of International Relations and Co-operation said in a statement on Thursday.
The statement said the government wished to convey its condolences and sympathy to Guinea and to bereaved families who had lost loved ones to Ebola, a disease with a high death rate among its victims. - Independent Foreign Service
