Mzansi Ballet makes a rare trip to Durban to present the fun ballet - The Abba Show: A Cinderella Story which blends the music of Abba with the familiar fairytale of Cinderella and comes to the new Milkwood Theatre next weekend.
And four readers can treat mom to the fabulous spectacle by entering our competition below.
Combining Abba and Cinderella is a marriage of two much loved timeless, cultural institutions creating an ingenious blend of sumptuous ballet told to a familiar, hum-along soundtrack. This new version will appeal to all ages, providing a fresh telling of the classic Cinderella story.
The show was a hit in Cape Town and Johannesburg, was choreographed by dancer Angela Revie (who plays Cinderella) and Michael Revie, and features costumes by fashion designer David Hutt. The cast includes Mzansi Ballet’s own dancers, as well as special guest stars Jorge Wade of Mexico and Ariel Mejica of Cuba. Also featured will be former Playhouse Company dancer, Andrew Gilder, as the Fairy Godmother.
Catch the show at Durban’s newest theatre – the Milkwood Theatre at Danville Park Girls’ High School, with performances at 7.30pm on Friday, May 16; 3pm and 7.30pm on Saturday, May 17; and 3pm on Sunday, May 18. Tickets R200 (R150 for pensioners and students) from Webtickets.
