Howard College, UKZN: Concert pianist Andrew Warburton presents a five part concert series entitled Mostly Beethoven from 15 to 30 November 2025. On Saturday 15 November at 7pm Warburton performs Beethoven’s “Appassionata” Sonata, together with Schumann’s Sonata no 2, Debussy’s suite “Estampes” and Prokofiev’s Sonata no 3. The uMgungundlovu Film Festival: The festival, themed "Imagine the World in My Image," takes place in Pietermaritzburg from November 14th to 16. The opening film, The Unseen Voice, is a powerful tale that centres around the life of a deaf woman is at the Voortrekker Museum at 5pm. Day 2 and 3 of the festival continues at Bessie Head Library from 9am to 5pm with a full day of film screenings and a series of skills development workshops. KZNSA: (today and tomorrow) As part of the international celebrations for the Dalai Lama’s 90th birthday four Tibetan Buddhist monks will visit South Africa to construct an intricate sand mandala which is a symbolic art-form created to encourage healing and peace. After six days of meticulously placing coloured sand, grain by grain, to create a magical 3-dimensional image, the monks will sweep up the sand and disperse the sand in the sea. Rhumbelow Theatre, Durban: To mark the 60th anniversary of The Sound of Music, the Dennis Hurley centre is hosting a special screening fundraiser on Sunday November 16 at 2.30pm.
