Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre: KickstArt presents the festive panto Sinbad the Sailor, a riotous romp over the Seven Seas from 4 December until 11 January. Written and directed by Steven Stead, designed by Greg King, with choreography by Evashnee Pillay. It stars Rory Booth as Sinbad, Bryan Hiles as his mother, Dame Donna Kebab, Lyle Buxton as his nemesis, Long John Slither, Belinda Henwood as the scheming sorceress Morgiana the Magnificent, and Roshanda Lewis as his love interest, Marina. The show also stars Marion Loudon, Blessing Xaba and Mthokozisi Zulu. Performances are at 2.30pm Tues-Sun, 11am and 3.30pm Saturday. Tickets from Webtickets.

Playhouse Drama: Charles Dickens' timeless story A Christmas Carol, has been adapted to A Fairytale Christmas Carol, the Musical, to be staged by the Young Performers Project from December 5 to 21. This clever adaptation sees The Big Bad Wolf as Ebenezer Scrooge. He is visited by three ghosts: Christmas Past, Present and Future (Fairy Godmother, Old King Cole and the Queen of Hearts respectively). The ghosts make Scrooge realise what a scoundrel he has been. The show is directed and choreographed by Daisy Spencer with musical direction by Des Govender. Musical numbers include a mixture of original songs and familiar carols as well as a few surprises. Stable Theatre: Durban’s Flatfoot Dance Company presents its Flatfoot Access Festival, offering a week-long engagement of workshops, panel discussions and performances from December 1 to 6. The festival celebrates Flatfoot's 22-year history of encountering disability through dance education and development work. Dancers Sifiso Khumalo and Jabu Siphika have created two short new works for the company with guest dancers Bheki Khotsolo and Amanuel Solomon (Ethiopia). Performances on Friday, 5 December at 6pm and Saturday 6 December at 2.30pm. Tickets are R85 from webtickets.

Tropical Nites Theatre, Wild Coast Sun: (today) The Elvira Venter Dance School presents Thru The Silver Screen where the movies come alive through dance. Shongweni Market: (today and tomorrow) The Durban Caledonian Pipe Band and Friends present the annual production of Carols and Kilts – at Shongweni Farmers Market on Saturday 29 Nov at 3pm, and at the DLI Hall in Greyville on Sunday 30 Nov at 2pm. KZNSA: (today and tomorrow). Opening of the exhibition 'Izihlahla Ziyokhuluma' which evokes memory and spirit, calling us to listen to the quiet truths that live beyond what the eye can see. Through the collective voice of Amasosha Collective, this exhibition reflects on growth, patience and the often-silenced stories that shape and reshape the African experience. Until November 30.

Burman Bush Nature Reserve: a guided hike through the reserve will begin with an Introduction at 8.45am and the walk starts promptly at 9am on Sunday December 7, lasting 90 minutes or 120 minutes with two routes. There will also be interesting market stalls for visitors to browse from 8.30am to 1pm, plus food and drink and children’s play activities.
