Online: The 12th European Film Festival in South Africa is a cinematic journey in search of love, identity, family, and belonging. Ten contemporary European films reflect on the realities of Europe and its place in the world now. Their strong characters in unusual situations, carefully crafted stories, and breathtaking landscapes make these films a road trip for the heart and mind. KZNSA: The RMA Young Artists Project (YAP) is open. This groundbreaking project, conceived in 2002, serves as an institutional platform to provide emerging artists with financial and curatorial support, as well as the space to realize their first solo projects. There are two solo exhibitions: Seeking by N’lamwai Chithambo and Disgust, Fear and Hell by Zama Cebsile Mwandla. Ends Oct 5.
Margate Art Museum: The exhibition Umgqigqo Resilience brings together 21 artists from KZN and across South Africa, showcasing a diverse array of artworks across various mediums, including sculpture, painting, ceramics and mixed media. September 26-29.
KZNSA: Strauss & Co will attend First Fridays celebrations with an Art Valuation Day at the KZNSA on October 3 from 1am to 4pm. Seabrooke’s Theatre, Durban: The Poetry Africa Festival returns from October 6-11 with a line-up of international and local voices championing this year’s theme: Poetry: an architecture of social justice.
