Menzi M Creations wins at Hollywood Foundation KZN Youth Business Awards

In an inspiring showcase of youth entrepreneurship, Menzi M Creations, the dynamic arts and entertainment company founded by visionary theatre-maker Menzi Mbuli, has been awarded a prestigious title at the Hollywood Foundation KZN Youth Business Awards. This initiative, which honours exceptional young business leaders, highlights those making transformative strides in their communities through innovation and economic participation.

The Hollywood Foundation, the corporate social investment arm of Hollywoodbets, hosted the awards ceremony, aiming to shine a spotlight on high-performing youth-owned businesses throughout KwaZulu-Natal. These awards celebrate not only excellence in creativity but also sustainability and the vital role of social upliftment in today's economy. With a robust focus on investing in the next generation of job creators, the Hollywood Foundation’s programmes underscore the importance of empowering youth through enterprise development.

Accepting the award on stage, Mbuli revealed the journey that led to the birth of Menzi M Creations. “We started Menzi M Creations about eight years ago because I realised that, as actors and artists, we are always waiting for people to give us work,” he said, reflecting on the challenges faced by creatives. “It's funny how you start by employing yourself, but halfway through the journey, you start employing and empowering other people.” What began as a self-initiated project has blossomed into an influential arts education company, now serving over 390 schools across KwaZulu-Natal and actively collaborating with institutions in Gauteng, including the renowned Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy in Johannesburg.

Menzi M Creations is dedicated to nurturing young talent, providing comprehensive arts training, performance opportunities, and vital industry insights, thereby equipping pupils with skills to succeed in the frequently elusive entertainment landscape.
