Jomo Cosmos is the next target for Richard Henyekane.
The Golden Arrows striker and reigning PSL top scorer was thrilled to open his account for the new season against AmaZulu in the MTN8 semi-finals at Chatsworth Stadium on Sunday, and will look for more of the same against newly-promoted Cosmos in the Absa Premiership on Wednesday afternoon at the same venue.
After scoring two goals and striking the bar against AmaZulu, he is sure to find himself a marked man on Wednesday.
"I am not thinking about the PSL award yet, but just want to do the best for my team. That's my job - to score goals," Henyekane said on Monday.
"I was very happy to score two against AmaZulu, having failed to score in the first two games of the season. It was a great feeling for me. My confidence is obviously very high at the moment."
In those outings, Arrows beat Free State Stars 1-0 in the MTN8 quarter-finals and then drew goalless with Moroka Swallows in the league, both away from home.
Arrows are not sure what to expect from Cosmos, according to Henyekane.
"We don't know much about Cosmos. All we know is they changed their squad a bit after earning promotion. We are expecting a difficult game, but we are playing at home and must take advantage of that," said the slippery striker.
New Arrows striker Koffi Tanoh had a quiet debut against AmaZulu on Sunday, but Henyekane said the Ivorian needed time to settle down.
"He's a good player, I'm sure he will come right."
Cosmos, like all the sides who failed to make the top eight, have played just the one league match so far this season.
They played to a scoreless draw with Platinum Stars in that encounter at the Rand Stadium in Johannesburg.
The midweek round of games starts tonight when defending champions SuperSport United play host to Kaizer Chiefs at Super Stadium in Pretoria.
SuperSport will be desperate for their first victory of the season after they had a disappointing mini-tour of Kwa-Zulu-Natal two weeks ago, where they lost to AmaZulu in the MTN8 and then were held to a 1-1 draw by Maritzburg United in the league.
AmaZulu go away to Platinum Stars tomorrow night, while Maritzburg travel to BidVest Wits.
