Pre-sale tickets for American rapper and singer-songwriter Kanye West, also known as Ye, Johannesburg concert have gone live on TicketPro.

West will have a one-day concert at Ellis Park Stadium on Saturday, December 13. The event is organised by the Monyake Group, a local live-entertainment company.

Prices for the concert start at R850 and range from R1 995,00 to R4 865,00.

For the pre-sale tickets, one had to register before getting an email that would have had a code to allow one to purchase a ticket. The pre-sale is only available for one day, until 9 pm.

While there is excitement for West’s concert, critics can’t help but be skeptical, as not too many people know of the Monyake Group, with some worried that they might be pulled into a scam.

After the failed Burna Boy South Africa performance last year and the Blue concert refund, people are trying to play things cautiously when spending money on tickets.

The Grammy award-winning artist was meant to perform on September 23 at FNB Stadium, but due to pending legal proceedings, the event was postponed to December 16 and  subsequently cancelled.

British boy band Blue's South African concert was cancelled, but fans are still waiting for ticket refunds, with very little hope of receiving them as the company is set to be liquidated.

Monyake Group, in a previous interview with “Independent Media Lifestyle”, expressed that they have a rich legacy in gospel and faith-based live production, and are capable of pulling off the show.

“We have a rich legacy in gospel and faith-based live production, and Ye’s evolution as an artist, as well as his vast catalogue and appeal, are perfectly aligned with our passion to create culturally relevant and spiritually healthy experiences at stadium scale.”
