Football legend Cristiano Ronaldo has embarked on a new chapter away from the pitch, teaming up with acclaimed director Matthew Vaughn to launch their own film production company, UR-MARV.
The venture marks Ronaldo’s foray into the world of cinema.
The studio has already wrapped up two action-packed movies, and a third is currently in development.
Ronaldo took to Instagram to share the announcement, posting: "... and action! 🎬 I’m excited to announce UR•MARV, my new film studio with Matthew Vaughn, and can’t wait to tell you about our first movie. Coming soon! 👀."
Accompanying his post was a teaser video that hints at the adventurous storytelling fans can expect from the collaboration.
The newly established independent studio aims to embrace innovative technology while paying homage to traditional filmmaking techniques.
An official statement posted on X read: "Cristiano Ronaldo loves movies; Matthew Vaughn loves sports - and they both love a good story.
"Both have been disruptive champions at their game and will now combine the world of sports and storytelling through the launch of UR-MARV, an independent joint venture film studio embracing innovative technology, with a nod to tradition."
Ronaldo added in the statement: “This is an exciting chapter for me, as I look ahead to new ventures in business."
Currently, much anticipation surrounds the first movie from the production house, which is expected to be announced soon.
While no specific release date has been disclosed, reports indicate that updates will be forthcoming, keeping fans on the edge of their seats.
Vaughn, known for his work on blockbusters such as "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels", "Argylle" and the “Kingsman” franchise, praised Ronaldo: “Cristiano has created stories on the pitch that I could never have written, and I look forward to creating inspiring movies with him - he's a real-life superhero.”
