Chymamusique, born Collen Ntala Mmotla, has returned to performing after a serious accident on August 30, placing him in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
He was travelling with fellow artist Poizen (Caven Masetla-Moshoane), who tragically passed away in the crash.
In early September, Chymamusique shared an update, revealing that he had undergone four successful surgeries, with one remaining. He expressed gratitude for the support and prayers he received during this challenging time.
Since then, he has been recovering at home, focusing on physiotherapy.
Earlier this week, a fan inquired about his recovery, suggesting a performance in Soshanguve. Chymamusique responded, confirming his first gig post-recovery: “I’ve accepted my first gig on Friday in Johannesburg to try to get back. I’m healing.”
In a heartfelt post, he urged followers to exercise caution on the roads, especially as the year-end approaches.
He emphasised the importance of prayer before travelling or reconsidering unnecessary trips, highlighting the potential dangers on the roads during this period.
Despite the recent challenges, Chymamusique has continued to contribute to the music scene. In August, he released his latest album, “Musique Collaborated Vol.1”.
He announced that volume two will be released this month.
This album marks his return after a four-year hiatus since the release of his triple award-winning album “Musique” in 2021.
“Musique Collaborated” is a collaborative project featuring various producers and musicians from around the world, showcasing a blend of sounds that reflect Chymamusique's musical journey and influences.
Chymamusique's discography includes other notable works like “House Dimensions” and “After The Storm”.
Known for his deep and soulful house productions, Chymamusique has established himself as a leading figure in the South African music industry.
Born and raised in Burgersfort, he began his musical journey in the early 2000s as a gospel and jazz pianist before transitioning to DJing. In 2005, he developed an interest in house music and began producing it in 2006, releasing his first online single in 2010.
He founded and manages Chymamusique Records. His resilience and dedication to his craft continue to inspire fans and fellow artists alike.
