Meanwhile, Reddy has come under scrutiny for another video clip that has gone viral online.

The video shows Reddy sweeping the yard and picking up empty firework boxes after their grand Diwali celebration.

However, the seemingly straightforward act of tidying up has ignited a fierce debate among netizens.

The video that was shared on Facebook is accompanied by a caption celebrating Reddy's humility: "Vivian Reddy may be a billionaire, but his humility remains his greatest wealth. He is down-to-earth and is the most humble person who inspires volumes of people."

It continues: "He is seen in this video with a broom in hand, sweeping away the mess. It was a simple gesture - yet one that spoke volumes about his character. Despite his success and stature, he continues to lead by example, reminding everyone that true greatness lies in humility."

However, many viewers seem less than convinced about the authenticity of this moment.

Comments flooded in with scepticism.

Sashveer Arjoon commented, "Please, this is just for the video, after 5 minutes, his workers will do the cleaning up."

Kresen Naidoo wrote: "What's he cleaning??? He is pushing and pulling the same dirt forward and back, does he even know how to clean has he cleaned before, just acting."

Zahra Basheer said, "Uncle playing with dirt can see he's not used to a broom."

Luxe Brands Tasneem Vadia wrote: "Haha, he's actually looking at the cameras."

On the flip side, some fans are defending Reddy against the wave of criticism.

Elton Moodley commented: "A humble soul. I served him at the old Mykonos restaurant in Musgrave back then in 2004. He is wealthy, but I never knew that back then. The owner told me, he is Mr Vivian Reddy, he owns Edison power, and that's how our convo went ... but Mr Vivian was so humble, so respectful, so calm and so peaceful ..."
