Londie London (real name Londiwe Zulu) has received a major career nod with a nomination for the Best Female TV Personality at the upcoming National Film & Television Awards (NFTA).

The singer, entrepreneur and television personality shared the exciting news with her followers on Instagram.

“Wow… nominated for Best TV Personality at the National Film & Television Awards. Feeling so grateful and emotional right now,” she wrote. “Your votes would mean the world to me 🥹 please take a moment to vote and help bring this one home!”

London is best known for her appearance on “The Real Housewives of Durban”, where she joined the cast in its second season.

On the reality show, she quickly became a fan favourite for her openness about her personal life, her career in music and fashion and her determination to balance fame with motherhood.

Her storylines often explored themes of independence, resilience and self-growth, resonating strongly with viewers across South Africa.

Beyond her role on “The Real Housewives of Durban”, London has built a diverse career in entertainment.

She first rose to fame as a musician under the Ambitiouz Entertainment label, where her smooth R&B vocals featured on popular tracks such as “He Goes” and “You Were Mine”. Her distinctive sound and image helped her carve a name in the local music scene.

In addition to music and television, London is also a businesswoman. She runs a successful luxury hair brand,  which focuses on high-quality wigs and hair extensions.

Her entrepreneurial ventures have contributed to her image as a modern media figure who blends creativity, business acumen and personal branding.

Now, her growing television profile has earned her recognition among some of South Africa’s top on-screen personalities.

London is nominated in the Best Female TV Personality category alongside Carissa Cupido, Minnie Dlamini, Hope Mbhele, Zari Hassan, Sorisha Naidoo, Ayanda G Thabethe and Abigail Visagie - a competitive list of accomplished women who have made their mark on television and digital platforms.

The 2025 National Film & Television Awards will mark the event’s third year. The ceremony will be streamed live to millions of viewers around the world via VooVix TV on November 22.

According to the organisers, the awards aim to recognise and promote cinematic and television excellence both locally and internationally.

They also celebrate the contributions of industry pioneers while creating a global platform for new and emerging talent to gain visibility.

“As we move into the third year of the National Film & TV Awards, we are excited to ensure that the Academy celebrates icons who have paved the way,” said Kabelo Ndonyane, head of partnerships at the NFTA South Africa.

“As well as a shortlist of fantastic nominees, we are pleased to announce that our homegrown icons will be honoured and celebrated globally for their achievements, which laid the foundation for the thriving film and television industry we are witnessing in South Africa today.”
