Rapper Emtee has officially ended his brief fallout with A-Reece after their recent online exchange stirred up the local hip hop scene.

During one of his infamous Instagram lives, Emtee took a moment to make peace, telling fans he has nothing but love for A-Reece.

“Hey Reece, I’m sorry n***a. I’m sorry about whatever misunderstanding we had going on, but I got nothing against Reece, I love Reece, man,” he said.

The drama started when Emtee went live earlier this month, addressing A-Reece’s fanbase, The Slimes, who had questioned why he did not promote A-Reece’s new album.

“The Slimes are mad at me for not posting A-Reece’s album. Who posts my s***?” Emtee asked, adding that hip hop has always been a competitive space.

“This s*** is a competitive sport. I f*** with everybody, but I ain’t no fan of nobody. Reece is my young n***a, I ain’t no fan of his, but I know he can rap for sure.”

His comments quickly went viral and sparked a debate about whether South African rappers should publicly support each other’s work. Emtee clarified that reposting someone’s album is not an obligation, saying admiration does not always mean promotion.

A-Reece later responded on his Instagram story, resharing the clip with laughing emojis and writing, “I ain’t posting nobody’s s*** no more, the GOAT says this s*** is a competitive sport.”

He tagged Emtee and added, “Is that why you didn’t come to my birthday celebration? U foul for that twin.”

The post reignited the conversation, and Emtee did not bite his tongue with his reply. “What was foul? Me not coming to fonem birthday nton nton or postin blud new project? Aren’t you n****s tired of sucking me dry? I’m not y’all h**!” he wrote.

A-Reece clapped back at Emtee and reiterated his birthday comment, adding that they should speak directly on the phone instead of “reading into these lame ass media outlets.”

“I don’t care if you post my shit or not. My comment on that was intended to be facetious. but yeah, you’re foul for not showing up to my birthday celebration after saying you would and not saying anything after you didn’t.

“Especially since I showed up for you at your show even though you didn’t hit me up directly about it.  Answer your phone bro I don’t want smoke stop reading into these lame ass media outlets and talk to ur boy.”

The back-and-forth had social media buzzing, with fans convinced a new beef was brewing. But A-Reece later cleared the air. When a fan asked if they were really beefing, he replied, “No.” He went on to show respect for Emtee, writing, “Bro been subtly flagrant, seldomly, but that n***a helped change my life. I don’t want smoke with bro unless he passing me a joint, you heard?”

The two rappers share a long history dating back to their Ambitiouz Entertainment days, when they collaborated on the hit track “Couldn’t” and have since formed a brotherly relationship, working on music together.

Fans were happy about their reconciliation, seeing it as a full-circle moment for two of South Africa’s most respected lyricists.

“Love to see this, really. ❤️ It was all a misunderstanding, and it shouldn’t have flared up the way it did,” wrote @A4RMUSIC. Another fan @tsh3pang__ added, “This is what we want to see as fans!!!”
