Amapiano music producer Kelvin Momo has let fans down yet again by failing to show up for a scheduled gig.

The latest incident occurred on December 23, when he was scheduled to perform at the O.R. Tambo Homage Concert in Bizana, commemorating the legacy of struggle stalwart Oliver Reginald Tambo.

In a statement shared with local media, Momo explained that he missed his first scheduled flight due to unexpected traffic delays while en route to the airport.

Although his team promptly booked a second flight, complications on this leg of the journey rendered it impossible for him to arrive in Bizana in time for his set.

“Despite all efforts made to arrive on time, Kelvin missed his first scheduled flight due to unexpected traffic delays. A second flight was immediately booked; however, this flight also experienced delays, which ultimately made it impossible for him to reach the venue in time for the performance,” the statement read.

Momo acknowledged the significance of the O.R. Tambo Homage Concert and extended sincere apologies to the event's organisers and attendees, emphasising that he holds the legacy being honoured and the people of Bizana in the highest regard.

“This situation was deeply disappointing for Kelvin, as he respects the event's significance. We appreciate the understanding shown and remain committed to making amends where possible,” the statement concluded.

This is not the first time the acclaimed producer has apologised for missing a gig.

In August, he failed to appear at the Outside Event, a move that sparked considerable backlash.

Following that incident, he issued a heartfelt apology to the event venue, organisers, and his fans, expressing his regret over the confusion and frustration caused by his absence.

“I understand the immense anticipation and excitement that surrounded my scheduled performance, and I deeply regret any inconvenience, frustration, or confusion caused by this situation. This was never my intention, and I take full responsibility for not being present as expected,” Momo said in a statement at the time.

Despite the controversy surrounding his no-shows, Momo continues to celebrate personal milestones.

Following the success of his album "Ntsako", which translates to "Joy" in Tsonga, he took to Instagram to showcase a new addition to his life - a fully customised VW Polo.

The post captured the attention of many fans and fellow artists, including DJ Black Coffee, who congratulated him on this achievement.

“It’s beautiful what music and hard work can do sometimes,” remarked one user on social media, acknowledging Momo's journey from humble beginnings to a flourishing music career.
