Dineo Ranaka has opened up about her healing journey, reflecting on faith, surrender and personal transformation that have reshaped her life over the past two years.
In a message shared on Instagram, the media personality spoke about a spiritual awakening that required big inner change rather than a physical ending.
“One morning two years ago, on May 23, I woke up disoriented with a deep urge for an ending,” Ranaka wrote. “Later, in solitude, I learned in spirit that it was not my life that needed to end.”
She explained that what was required was the release of patterns and versions of herself that were holding her back.
“I needed to end the existence of the ways that were limiting me. Everything had to fall away except my physical self. My spirit was asking to be washed again.”
Ranaka described this moment as a period of character development, repentance and surrender, where an old version of herself faded to make room for renewal.
“A version of me that many assumed they knew died. In its place, a woman was reborn, one I now enjoy spending time with. I feel deeply and see things more clearly.”
Her faith has played a central role in this transformation. Ranaka shared a prayer that guides her daily life and creative expression.
“My prayer to start the year, given to me in spirit, was simple. ‘Father, please reveal your work of art to me through my hands’.”
She added that she continues to follow divine guidance even without certainty about the path ahead.
“I do not know what I am doing, but I am following God from within as He takes over my hands to show me what needs to be seen. My nervous system is settled, and my heart is fixed on the Lord.”
Ranaka’s healing journey has been a long-standing part of her public life.
She has spoken openly about living with severe chronic depression, PTSD, temporal lobe epilepsy and hypothyroidism, using her platform to encourage honesty and compassion around mental health.
Alongside her Christian faith, Ranaka has also embraced traditional healing and ancestral work. She has previously shared that reconnecting with her lineage helped her understand her spiritual sensitivity and emotional depth.
Rather than seeing faith and tradition as opposing forces, she has described them as complementary paths that brought balance, grounding and clarity.
Today, Ranaka continues to walk a journey shaped by prayer, spiritual discipline and ancestral awareness.
