American R&B singer, Brandy Norwood recently received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

A legacy decades in the making just got its flowers.
Iconic R&B singer Brandy Norwood, has officially taken her rightful place among legends after she was honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on March 30.
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce honored the singer and actress with the 2,839th star, presented to successful individuals who have significantly impacted the entertainment industry.
The multi-hyphenate delivered a speech at her induction, revealing that since childhood, it was always her dream to see her name on one of those stars.
“Seeing the stars on the Walk of Fame lit something in me. It made me believe. It made me affirm over my own life: I'm going to sing my way onto one of these stars. And I did! I have always believed my mark in this industry could be something meaningful and lasting."
“As honoured as I've been by every accolade, every milestone, every form of recognition, I didn't want to stop at just being remembered on the Hollywood High School mural. I wanted a legacy written in stone,” she said
“The Boy Is Mine” singer further explained that the star's significance lies in their power to solidify and acknowledge the dedication and effort invested throughout their career.
“A star on the Walk of Fame is a definition of legacy. It doesn't just celebrate your success; it cements your story.
“It doesn’t just honour your work, it immortalises your light. It is a symbol that says you didn’t just arrive, you endured. You didn’t just dream, you became,” she said.
The 47-year-old is definitely a force in the entertainment industry. From being the first Black actress to portray the role of “Cinderella” to producing hits such as “Have You Ever”, “Missing You” and “I Wanna Be Down”.
In addition, she is also a Grammy award-winning artist who has recorded eight studio albums and has collaborated with famous artists such as Monica, Tamia, Chaka Khan, Chris Brown and Gladys Knight.
Furthermore, stars who came to celebrate Norwood as she received the star were Monica Arnold, Kehlani, Issa Rae, Babyface, Erica Campbell, Jenifer Lewis and Shar Jackson.
