How Rachel Kolisi, Demi-Leigh Tebow and other SA celebs celebrated Easter weekend

From embracing solo time to outdoor family fun, South African celebrities celebrated the Easter weekend in different ways.

Rachel Kolisi, the ex-wife of Springboks captain Siya Kolisi, took to Instagram to reveal that it has been “A solo and chicken soup Easter this year 🐣.”

Wearing sweatpants and a t-shirt, Rachel posted an image of herself with a bowl of chicken soup at home, while adding to the caption: “Not quite how I ever imagined it, being away from my kids and not feeling my best, but sometimes life slows you down in ways you don’t choose.”

“And in those moments, you’re left with yourself.I’m learning that being alone doesn’t have to mean being lonely. That there’s something steady and grounding about sitting in your own company, even when it’s uncomfortable.

“Easter is a reminder that even in the hardest, most uncertain moments, there is still hope. Still renewal. Still purpose in the waiting.And our good God sees and knows it ALL.

“‘But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles…’Isaiah 40:31.I hope those of you who celebrate had the most beautiful day!”

Rachel’s empowering solo Easter weekend comes as Siya has also been updating his followers about how he is spending the holiday. He posted pictures of him with his daughter, Keziah and his son Nicholas as well his siblings Liyema and Liphelo - whom he and Rachel adopted in 2014 - swimming together and attending a church service.

Meanwhile, former Miss South Africa Demi-Leigh Tebow - who also won the Miss Universe title in 2017 - celebrated her daughter’s first Easter, posting images of them together enjoying an Easter egg hunt with the caption: “Daphne’s first Easter. 💝 Thank you Jesus for the gift of new life, new beginnings, and the sweetest blessing in our baby girl. Hope everyone has a blessed day with their loved ones!”

“The Real Housewives of Durban” star Jojo Robinson also enjoyed the festivities with her son Rocco, her husband Calven Robinson and other loved ones enjoying the warm weather.

On her Instagram Stories, she shared images of her relaxing while the others swim and play with the dogs.

Somizi also took to his stories to share a video of his Easter celebrations, enjoying some shots while Nadia Nakai balanced work with play. She shared images on Instagram of her enjoying an Easter lunch while also fitting in some work over the weekend.
