Tyla has officially confirmed that her second album, “A*Pop”, will drop on July 24. The album will be released through “Since ’93”, an entertainment company that is part of the RCA recording label.

The unexpected announcement came with a sleek trailer that sets the tone for what looks like a bold next chapter.

According to Tyla, fans can expect a playful exploration of different genres on “A*Pop”. So while some may expect her to continue building on her “popiano” sound, the blend of pop, R&B and amapiano that she’s made her own, keep an open mind.

It’s the same formula that pushed her onto global charts, but this time it’s being described as more confident, more playful and fully hers.

The teaser for the album leans into that identity, framing the album as “dance, African, unapologetic, fun, for you, for me, confident, global”.

“A*Pop” will consist of 14 songs, including “Is It” from her previous mixtape “We Wanna Party”, her recent chart-climbing single “She Did It Again”, featuring Zara Larsson, and “Chanel,” which has been certified gold in the US as of today.

The 24-year-old star’s sophomore album follows her self-titled debut “Tyla” and its expanded edition “Tyla+”, which dropped in 2024 and pushed her into global territory.

Tyla has openly discussed how rushed her debut era felt, explaining that her career took off almost overnight.

Now, she’s coming into this album with a clearer sense of direction and a more paced album rollout.

“I feel like the first album, it was very hectic, it was a rush. It was like, all of a sudden, overnight craziness. So now that I’m settled in, I feel like I know more about my direction and what I want to do, what I want to say,” she told "Rolling Stone" in an interview.

“I just knew that as I lived through the making of the album, it was going to fall into place, which it did. I feel like I just did something really fresh and so … Tyla.”

The rollout is already in motion, and the artist was in the streets of New York City wearing a tank top along with her team with the album title across.

She was seen signing her recent "i-D" magazine cover and giving out boxes of burgers with “A*Pop” stickers on.

A neon yellow trailer bus covered with her face and the album title was also seen in the streets of New York City. Along with that, Times Square lit up with billboards of her album cover.

Tyla’s “A*Pop” album title artwork was designed by John Patrikas, an art director and creative consultant who has reportedly worked on tour graphics for Sabrina Carpenter.

With “Chanel” pulling major numbers and going gold, and “She Did It Again” gaining traction, “A*Pop” is building on an impressive and exciting momentum.
