Durban-born radio presenter and reality TV personality Nomthandazo “Tee” Xaba has graduated from University of KwaZulu-Natal with a Bachelor of Arts in Drama, Performance and English Studies after a challenging academic journey.

Xaba (28), a radio host at East Coast Radio, is also known for her role on Being A Xaba, which centres on her father, Bishop VJ Xaba, and their large family.

Reflecting on her time at university, Xaba described the experience as long and demanding but said she remains proud of her achievement.

She revealed that she dropped out of her studies four times before ultimately completing her degree. Xaba said discipline, time management and a clear sense of purpose helped her return each time.

Xaba credited her mother, Bonisiwe Khanyile, for encouraging her to finish her studies, while also acknowledging the support of her husband, family and close friends.

Looking ahead, she said she is optimistic about the future and highlighted the celebratory atmosphere of graduating at UKZN.

Xaba also encouraged students facing difficulties to persevere, urging them to take their journeys one step at a time and not give up.
