A graduation celebration meant to be filled with music and memories has now sparked backlash online after amapiano star Young Stunna, born Sandile Msimango, was accused of refusing to perform at a private family event.

Businessman and life coach St Paul Hagiazo recently took to social media claiming the “Adiwele” hitmaker left his daughter heartbroken after allegedly declining to perform at her graduation celebration because the venue was “not full”.

Known for his energetic stage presence and crowd-favourite performances, Stunna had reportedly been booked as the headline act for the intimate gathering, which was attended by around 60 guests.

According to Hagiazo, the event had been arranged specifically to celebrate his daughter’s milestone, making the incident even more disappointing for the family.

In a Facebook post that has since gained attention online, Hagiazo accused the singer of ruining what was supposed to be one of the most special moments in his daughter’s life.

“Young Stunna ruined my daughter’s moment, honestly. I booked him because he is my daughter’s favourite and only for him to come and tell us that he won’t perform because it’s not full,” he wrote.

He explained that the event was intentionally kept private and intimate, adding that the embarrassment left his daughter devastated.

“This is a private party with only 60 people for her. Just imagine the embarrassment he has served on my daughter’s special moment?”

Hagiazo also added that the issue was not about the money allegedly paid for the booking, but rather the emotional impact the situation had on his family.

“This isn’t about him returning my money; this is a precious moment he has ruined for my child,” he added.

At this stage, it remains unclear exactly how the situation unfolded on the day or whether there may have been other issues behind the scenes that contributed to the alleged no-show.

At the time of publication, Stunna’s team had not yet responded to a request for comment from “Independent Media Lifestyle”.
