South African YouTuber Lasizwe Dambuza is hoping to become a father next year.

Speaking at a SA Rugby and Samsung event in Sandton, Johannesburg, the 27-year-old exclusively told “Independent Media Lifestyle”: “What you can expect from me next year, there is one big project I am working on - I am working on getting pregnant.”

While not divulging any further details, Dambuza also reflected on his highs and lows this year.

“One of my lows was fighting publicly online,” he explained. “I am not someone who appreciates that. I hate fighting online and in general, so that was one of my lows. It took a toll on me, but we bounced back.”

Dambuza was at the centre of several online disputes this year, including a public fallout with his brother, Lungile Mcunu, over the family’s taxi business, and a financial disagreement with content creator Dominic Zaca. He also faced backlash for hosting what many labelled a “homophobic” guest, Simon Kaggwa Njala, on his show “Awkward Dates”.

But overall, the media personality is thrilled about the progress of his hit series, where he goes on blind dates with various celebrities.

“This year, definitely my career high was “Awkward Dates” being on DStv and generally just killing the space.”

As he prepares to wrap 2025, Dambuza said he plans on “rejuvenating” this festive season.

“A Lasizwe summer to me looks like a lot of rest, lots of time indoors, lots of time in the swimming pool, lots of intimate parties with my friends and family, and just spending time with the people I couldn't see throughout the year.”

“This festive season, I am out. I am going to regenerate, get back my energy so that in January I can kill it like I killed it this year,” he added.
