Singer and multi-hyphenate creative powerhouse KLA has released a new single, “Peace”, a follow-up to her previous single “In My Way”.
The Johannesburg-based artist Kayla Neilson, known by her stage name KLA (pronounced "Kayla"), is an artist with a powerful voice on a mission to become a defining voice for a new generation.
Produced and co-written by Rehsa, a rising South African singer-songwriter and producer, “Peace” was born from a studio session that flowed with rare ease.
“ ‘Peace’ came from that moment, where you realise not everyone will move at your pace, and sometimes you have to choose yourself. It’s about finding clarity and peace in the middle of change, whatever that looks like for you,” explained the singer.
From the moment Kla was in the studio with Rehsa and he played a few beats, “the energy just clicked.
From their conversations about life, relationships, and peace was a common theme. “The words and melody flowed so naturally, it ended up being one of the easiest, most honest sessions I’ve had.”
The musical sensation blends pop, R&B, soul and African rhythms into her sound. The song “Peace” unpacks themes of love and emotional disconnect.
“To me, peace means slowing down, being honest about what you want, and surrounding yourself with people who truly align with your values. It’s choosing connection over chaos, every time.”

As part of a new generation of South African artists, Kla wants her music to feel timeless, something that reminds listeners of the old but still sounds brand new.
“I’m really inspired by the wave of artists coming up right now who are experimenting with R&B, soul, and Afro-influences. I just want to make music that people can feel and sing along to, wherever they are in the world.”
Not only is Kla just a musician, she’s also a model, content creator, and former Miss SA Top 35 finalist. Balancing everything has been a journey for KLA.
“During Miss SA, I realised I was encouraging women to chase their dreams, but I’d stepped away from my own for a bit. That was a wake-up call. Since then, I’ve learned to give time to every part of me, the artist, the creative, the businesswoman.
“It’s not perfect yet, but I’m finding my rhythm again.”
2025 has been a year of growth for Kla. She’s challenged herself in ways that she didn’t expect, creatively, personally, and in business. “I launched new projects, made new music, and learned so much about who I am as an artist.
“It’s been a beautiful mix of lessons and wins, and I’m excited for what 2026 is bringing.”
