Spotify’s Wrapped 2025 results have revealed that the most-streamed song of 2025 in South Africa is “Isaka” by CIZA, which powered dance floors, parties, and playlists across the country.
Ciza’s 2025 single, “Isaka (6am)” featuring Jazzworx and Thukuthela, was a huge hit, receiving praise all over the country, and it wasn't just all noise.
The song has 39,190,610 streams on Spotify, and on YouTube, the song's music video has over 30 million views.
Renowned music producer and DJ, Prince Kaybee, once called "Isaka (6am)" the best South African song since 2021 and with these numbers, he might have been on to something.
In September, Ciza (real name Nkululeko Nciza) released the remix to the hot single, roping in Nigeria's finest talents Tems and Omah Lay.
The 24-year-old is the son of former music executive TK Nciza and musician and designer Nhlanhla Mafu. He has been doing music since 2019 and "Isaka (6am) showed his star power.
In a previous social media post, Ciza reflected on the journey of “Isaka (6am)” and its impact on his career.
He explained that the track was created one night in the studio while working with two friends.
“One night I played ‘Isaka’ live and the internet went crazy. Then the dance challenge took over and changed everything. The official video reached one million views in just 48 hours. Because of ‘Isaka’, I have performed on stages all over the world with artists like Black Coffee.”
“I’ve been able to achieve all of this with my family by my side. The support of my friends and the love from my hometown raised me. Every time a DJ spins or remixes ‘Isaka’, it feels like it can’t get any bigger. But then two of the biggest artists in the world came together for the official remix. And the rest will be history.”
Spotify’s Wrapped 2025 results are proving just how much music lovers love local. Over 1.3 billion hours, netizens spent streaming music on Spotify in 2025 alone, and local artists now account for 70% of the 10 most-streamed artists, flipping the script on previous years.
